Our TeamEric R. Lundstrom, Founder and President

Founded Focus Capital Advisors, Inc. after a very successful twenty-five year career in public accounting, including twenty years as a Partner with one of the country’s fastest growing CPA firms and Leader of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. His specialty has been in Dealmaking while also providing Tax Planning and Strategic Consulting to a substantial client base of mid-sized businesses. A significant number of his clients have been in the manufacturing, distribution, and service industries primarily in the greater Chicago and Los Angeles markets, and he remains active in a variety of trade associations. Eric is a Certified Public Accountant with a BS from Illinois State University and professional memberships in the American Institute of CPA's, Illinois CPA Society, the Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries and the Association for Corporate Growth. He also is an officer and Board member with Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation and dedicates his time and financial resources to helping the organization serve the needs of children battling this terrible disease.

Kevin Simpson, Managing Director

Kevin joined Focus Capital in 2003 and has been instrumental in closing many complex deals for the firm.  In addition to traditional M&A intermediary services Kevin also provides buy side due diligence expertise. His background includes fifteen years in public accounting at Friedman, Eisenstein, Raemer & Schwartz (FERS), as a partner and a member of the Executive Committee. Kevin also spent four years as the Chief Operating Officer and National Director of Consulting Services for the accounting firm industry leader Practice Development Institute.  Additionally, he specializes in strategic planning and CFO and turn-around services to a wide range of businesses with an emphasis on manufacturing, distribution and professional service firms.

Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant, a graduate of Northern Illinois University and holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management with a specialization in accounting and finance.  He is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society, the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (where he is a Certified M&A Advisor) as well as the Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries.

Michael B. Ribet, Managing Director

Michael Joined Focus in 2007. Previously, he was a partner at Capital Results LLC, a Chicago investment banking firm. Michael has completed numerous transactions representing both buyers and sellers. He specializes in recapitalizations and private equity acquisitions. Michael was CEO of two information technology companies during the nineties, Internet Dynamics and Nexiv. Earlier Michael spent 15 years at IBM in sales and marketing management.

Michael has a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from New York University and an MBA from the University of San Francisco. Michael is a past President of the Mid-west Business Brokers and Intermediaries (MBBI).

Eric E. Dunn, Managing Director

Eric has an extensive background in Sales and Marketing, prior to joining Focus Capital, Eric was Senior Vice President of Sales for a middle-market business services firm providing IT services and Due Diligence services for M&A transactions. In this role Eric was responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies for the entire company. Prior to that, Eric was a co-founder of The Software Alliance, a software and intellectual property transaction services firm, the firm was successfully sold to a mid-cap technology provider. When assisting buy-side and sell-side clients, Eric draws on his background as an entrepreneur and marketing expert to help clients identify the most effective markets for their businesses and find the best fit, creating the greatest value to all parties in a transaction.

Eric is a Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor by Loyola University and the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors. He holds a B.S. degree in Business with a Marketing concentration from Southern Illinois University. Eric sits on the Board of Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries (MBBI) he also is a member of The Executives Club of Chicago and the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (AMAA). Eric is an active advocate for The Alliance for Lupus Research.

Martin Z. Craig, Managing Director Healthcare

Since 2001, Martin Z. Craig has been investing as an individual in healthcare companies and providing executive consulting services under the aegis of Craig Capital, Inc. (CCI). CCI recently consulted with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services to develop strategies to maximize revenues and reduce costs.

From 1998 to 2001, Martin was CEO and founder of Argent Healthcare Financial Services Inc., a GTCR funded healthcare initiative. He grew revenues from $0 to $56 MM over a 2 year period. Argent was subsequently sold to Roundtable Healthcare Partners.

During the decade of the eighties, Martin was Founder and Managing Partner of Hayt, Hayt and Landau, a firm pioneering the offering of outsourced healthcare reimbursement services. In a 6 year period he grew revenues to $70 MM. The firm was sold to a family investment fund and Martin continued to operate the business until purchased by Welsh Carson when revenues had reached $120 MM.

Martin has a BA degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign, IL and a JD degree from John Marshall Law School. His board and professional affiliations include: Chicago Conservation Center, Bronson-Gore & Irving Private Banks, ICMB Ocean Tomo, IP Merchant Bank, ORI Mutual Fund, and Health Management Systems (Nasdaq:HMSY).

Francisco J. Flores, Managing Director

Francisco has over 30 years of experience in banking and leveraged lending with a background which includes marketing, credit, workout, and administrative positions. His focus has been on solving clients’ problems by structuring the appropriate financing necessary for the execution of their business plans. He is highly skilled in sourcing credit providers, negotiating credit restructurings for financially-distressed companies, and evaluating and underwriting credits, including asset-based, enterprise value, term loans and structured leases. He has been involved in operating-company entrepreneurial startups as an owner and officer and orderly wind downs as a workout lender and consultant.

Francisco served as Board Director and Chairman of the Education Committee of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association; has been a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and Commercial Finance Association; served as Chairman of the Stewardship and Finance Committee of Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville, Illinois. He has a BA from Northwestern University, an MBA in Finance from DePaul University, and is a CPA
